Cindy Allen
Ms. Allen has been with Interior Design magazine since 1996, becoming editor in chief in 2001. She quickly established herself as an essential force there, elevating publication content quality, strengthening its credentials as a design leader, and establishing it as a vehicle of growth and success for the industry it represents. Ms. Allen serves as judge on many industry awards competitions, hosts various panels, and is the recipient of multiple esteemed industry honors.
Hugo Barreca, Finance Committee Chair
Mr. Barreca is a financial and legal specialist focusing on financial planning, contract and deal negotiations, and legal affairs. His corporate experience includes senior positions with Time Inc., The New York Times, and Proclivity Systems, Inc. He currently serves as the president of a non-profit, grant-making foundation. He holds an MBA from New York University and a JD from Fordham University School of Law.
Alison Bauer
Ms. Bauer, a former program officer at the J.M. Kaplan Fund, has devoted the
past 15 years to working with foundations and other philanthropic organizations.
Theodore S. Berger
Mr. Berger is the former Executive Director of
the New York Foundation for the Arts, the national
leader in providing financial and informational assistance
to artists and organizations that directly serve
artists of all disciplines.
Deborah Berke
Ms. Berke is a principal of Deborah Berke & Partners
Architects LLP. Major projects by the firm include
the Yale University School of Art and New Theater,
the master plan for Temple University’s new
School of Art building, Battery Park City Parks Conservancy’s
facility and headquarters, the James Hotel in Phoenix,
and numerous artists’ studios and residences.
Victor Body-Lawson
Mr. Body-Lawson is a former Design Trust fellow and the founding principal of Body Lawson Associates, where he directed several flagship projects, including the Riverside Church Master Plan, Bethel Gospel Tabernacle, and the Diego Beekman Project in the Bronx. Mr. Body-Lawson has taught at City College School of Architecture and the Yale University Graduate School of Architecture.
Kitty Hawks
Ms. Hawks, an acclaimed interior designer, has
been the principal of her own firm since 1988. She
serves on the board of the Municipal Art Society
and the Humane Society and is also a founding member
of Tails in Need.
Mark Heiman
Mr. Heiman is President and Chief Operating Officer of Richter+Ratner, a construction firm known for its ability to execute the most challenging projects. Prior to joining R+R, Mr. Heiman was the Vice President of Sciame Construction. During his 17-year career in the industry he has overseen a variety of projects, including educational institutions (Parsons The New School, Lycée Français), retail flagships (Uniqlo, Bulgari), religious institutions (Central Synagogue) and expansion projects (Harvard Club).
Susan Grant Lewin
Ms. Lewin is president of Susan Grant Lewin Associates,
a marketing and public relations firm specializing
in art, architecture, design, and real estate.
Previously, she spent 20 years as a journalist — including
as senior editor of architecture at House Beautiful — and
then joined the Formica Corporation, where as global
creative director she helped reposition the century-old
company as a design leader.
Stephen Maharam
Mr. Maharam is a principal of Maharam, a textile
firm that is committed to the implementation of progressive
environmental practices as a matter of corporate
and design philosophy.

Zack McKown
Mr. McKown is a co-founder of Tsao & McKown architects. Tsao & McKown are known for designing a wide range of projects internationally, from large-scale, mixed-use developments, such as the $1.6 billion Suntec City in Singapore, to residential buildings, hotels, individual residences, furniture, and product design.

Paula J. Mueller, Secretary
Ms. Mueller is a Managing
Director and the Vice President, Secretary, and
General Counsel of Rockefeller & Co., as
well as the Director of Human Resources. Prior
to joining the firm in 1989, she was an attorney
for 15 years with Willkie Farr & Gallagher,
a New York law firm, where she was a litigation
partner. She holds a B.A.
in history from Cornell University and a J.D.
from Cornell Law School.
Linda Pollak, Design Trust Council Co-Chair
Ms. Pollak, architect, landscape designer and educator, is a principal of Marpillero Pollak Architects, whos recent and current NYC projects include: the new Elmhurst Branch Library, Queens Plaza Bicycle and Pedestrian Improvement Project, New Stapleton Waterfront, Staten Island Children's Museum Lightweight Structures, and GreenBranches Learning Gardens in Queens and Brooklyn. Ms. Pollak was a member of the faculty of Harvard Graduate School of Design from 1992 to 2004, and has taught at RISD and the University of Pennsylvania.
Annabelle Selldorf
Ms. Selldorf is the principal of Selldorf
Architects, an architecture and design firm whose
work includes new construction and renovation

Susanna Sirefman
Ms. Sirefman is president of Dovetail Design Strategists, a firm that formulates and implements competitive strategies to hire the best professionals to design and construct contemporary built-environment projects. Trained as an architect, Ms. Sirefman currently contributing editor to Surface magazine and has written six books, including the recent title Modern Shoestring: Contemporary Architecture on a Budget.
Sylvia Smith
Ms. Smith, a principal with FXFowle Architects,
PC, directs the firm’s educational and
cultural work. Past projects include the New
School University's Knowledge Union Technology
Center, the Blackrock Forest Center for Science
and Education, and an award-winning renovation
for the American Craft Museum.
Claire Weisz, Program Committee Chair
Ms.
Weisz, an architect, worked in the offices of
Charles W. Moore and Agrest and Gandelsonas prior to
establishing Weisz + Yoes, her practice in association
with Mark Yoes, in 1992. She has taught at
Columbia University, Yale School of Architecture, the
Pratt Institute, the City College of New York, and
the New Jersey Institute of Technology. Ms. Weisz served
as a co-editor of AD and was previously the co-executive
director of the Design Trust for Public Space.
Andrea Woodner, Founder and Board Chair

She is trained as an architect and practices
sculpture. She serves on the Visiting Committee of the Morgan
Library, and the Architecture and Design Committee
