Our Annual Reports are one of the best ways to get a sense of the organization as a whole. Each report provides a detailed overview of our activities, projects and events for that year, along with our operating budget and a list of all our donors.
As required by law, each year the Design Trust's finances are audited by an independent accountant. For anyone curious about the financial health of the organization or how we put your donations to work, this is where to look.
The Design Trust follows the calendar year, so our annual audit takes place in the spring and the statement is usually released in the summer.
In January of 2012, the Design Trust undertook a formal strategic planning effort with an outside consultant, The Whelan Group. The goal was a framework to strengthen programming, increase visibility, create a sustainable business model and position the Design Trust as a thought leader on public space in NYC.
Over the course of several months, The Whelan Group worked closely with the Board of Directors and staff to develop a comprehensive multi-year plan that laid out a vision and road map for the Design Trust. In October 2012, the plan was formally presented and adopted by the Board of Directors.
The first formal strategic plan ever created for the organization is now serving as a guide for our long-term sustainability and development as a nonprofit organization. We have made the plan publicly available to any and all who are interested.
The Design Trust gratefully acknowledges the A. Woodner Fund, Double-R Foundation, and New York Community Trust for their support of this crucial investment in our future.
