The Reinventing Grand Army Plaza exhibit is under construction! With the exhibit set to open to the public one week from today, the folks at DCM Fabrication are working around the clock to get all pieces in place for installation. Check out these pics from DCM’s 10,000 sq. ft. shop in the Brooklyn Navy Yard.
DCM is building wooden frames. . .
. . . Printed vinyl gets stretched over the wood frames (the vinyl was printed by ColorChrome Atlanta). . . .
Then, DCM is building aluminum frames that the wood-framed vinyl gets screwed into. . .
Next week, DCM will deliver all of these aluminum, wood and vinyl squares to Grand Army Plaza in flatbed trucks, and we’ll put them all together!
