To celebrate the launch of
MADEINMIDTOWN.ORG, the Design Trust presented a one-day pop-up exhibit at the Fashion Center/Times Square Pop-Up Space.
Showcasing highlights from the
Made in Midtown project, this installation included large-scale video projections, computer kiosks, a show of locally-produced garments (from such top designers as Anna Sui, Nanette Lepore, Rag & Bone and YEOHLEE), a newspaper highlighting stories from the district, and an interactive street map that traced garment production in the Garment District.
Free and open to the public all day on Thursday, June 3rd, this storefront exhibit showed why creative industries matter to New York City's economy, identity, and sense of place. (For the full schedule of events, see the list at right.)
